Hi Ladies!

My daughter is down for her nap, and I’m sitting on the couch in my living room looking outside at the blue skies. The weather has been so nice this week! As Michiganders, we have learned how to appreciate good weather to the fullest!

As I think about this upcoming spring, I think about walks with my family, flowers blooming, and opening up the windows to let the fresh air come through the house. I’m looking forward to feeling the warm sunshine hit my face as I step out the door.

Spring is also a time to clean out the clutter and stuffiness that comes with winter. I will soon be packing away the boots and gloves and will be bringing out the sandals and sundresses. It’s going to feel so good to freshen up the house and maybe add some pretty flowers to set on the kitchen table.

I’m also going to be doing a little “spring cleaning” in my spiritual life. I’m going to set aside sometime this spring to ask the Holy Spirit to take an inventory of my thoughts and actions. I want to make sure that my heart is pure and my motives line up with God’s Word.

Psalm 139:23-24 says, “Search me Oh God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.” (NLT)

Spring is about freshening up and cleaning out the junk. Take some time today to think about something that you’ve let fester in your spirit. Allow God to clean it out and replace it with His Holy Spirit. You will be so glad that you did. Your step will be lighter and your heart will be joyful!
